In October 2019, I attended the CET Experience as a speaker. The entire conference was so much fun, and I learned so much! One thing I learned was that I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with other designers. I decided to start this blog as a place to share some tips and tricks of things I have learned along the way. What better place to start, than with sharing the PDF presentation for the CET Experience: FINISHING STRONG! BEST PRACTICES FOR CREATING INSTALLATION PLANS. Here is a link to that presentation:
One note on that presentation… one of the tips I gave for labeling Furniture Tags showed using the Label Tool in paper space. However a couple of users in my session gave me an even better tip! Overlap 2 View ports in Paper Space with all your furniture tagging being done in the model view... Set the original viewport to print in black and white. Set the 2nd view port to print in color and turn off all layers except the text. It will slow your drawing down, but does work faster than labeling everything in Paper Space.
One change I am hoping to see in the future for CET Designer is more control over layering and printing of colors. We all need to turn those feature requests in!
Hope you find this presentation helpful!
Looking forward to sharing more information in 2020!
